Project Description
The NLP Engineer will play a key role in designing, training, and deploying models for a range of language-focused applications. The position will involve tackling tasks such as text classification, named entity recognition, sentiment analysis, and question answering.
Core Responsibilities and Expected Deliverables
Responsibilities include data preprocessing, model experimentation, optimization, and integration into production pipelines. Expected deliverables are deployable NLP models, supporting APIs, and well-documented code.
Required Experience and Preferred Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, linguistics, or a related field is required. Previous academic projects or internships in NLP or machine learning will be considered advantageous. Preferred qualifications include advanced coursework in AI, certifications in machine learning, or research experience in natural language processing.
Tools or Platforms to Be Used
Python, spaCy, NLTK, Hugging Face Transformers, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and cloud ML services such as AWS SageMaker or Google Cloud AI Platform.
Language Requirement
English fluency is required for team communication. Knowledge of additional languages will be an advantage for multilingual projects.
Communication Style
Collaboration will be managed via Slack and Zoom, with weekly team updates and project reporting through email and project management systems.
Time Commitment or Working Window
40 hours per week with flexible scheduling, but overlapping at least 4 hours daily with U.S. Eastern or CET time zones is preferred.
Payment Terms
Fixed monthly salary with performance-based annual increments and opportunities for project-based bonuses.
Evaluation Criteria
