Familiarity with at least one leading RPA platform (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, or Microsoft Power Automate) is expected, along with basic Python or .NET/VB skills, SQL for data handling, API integration concepts, and version control habits. Clear written communication, change control discipline, and a security-first mindset are essential.
Project Details
Project Description
The team is building automations that streamline invoice processing, customer onboarding, reconciliations, case triage, and data synchronization between line-of-business systems. The RPA Developer will convert process maps into robust workflows, implement exception handling and human-in-the-loop steps, and deploy bots to orchestrators with the monitoring needed for dependable 24/7 operations. The purpose is simple: deliver automations that are safe, interpretable, and easy to maintain as processes and systems evolve.
Core Responsibilities and Expected Deliverables
Analyze candidate processes with stakeholders and produce concise Process Definition Documents and Solution Design Documents.
Build, unit test, and document bots using best-practice frameworks (e.g., UiPath REFramework), with secure credential handling and configurable assets.
Integrate with REST/Graph APIs, databases, queues, and email systems; minimize fragile UI selectors and prefer resilient interfaces.
Deploy to orchestrators with schedules, queues, and alerting; create dashboards and runbooks that operations can follow without guesswork.
Implement exception pathways, retry logic, and business/technical KPI tracking; participate in change advisory boards and post-incident reviews.
Train support teams and hand over documentation, including rollback plans and disaster-recovery steps.
Required Experience and Preferred Qualifications
Successful candidates demonstrate structured problem solving, readable code, and care for auditability. Preferred qualifications include experience in finance processes (P2P/O2C/R2R), knowledge of document understanding and OCR, and exposure to virtualized environments such as Citrix. Certifications like UiPath Advanced RPA Developer, Automation Anywhere Master RPA Professional, or Microsoft PL-500 are valued but not required when portfolio evidence is strong.
Tools or Platforms to Be Used
Primary: UiPath, Automation Anywhere, or Microsoft Power Automate (Desktop and cloud)
Orchestration and ops: UiPath Orchestrator, Control Room, Power Platform admin, queue-based work, SLA alerts
Supporting stack: Python or .NET/VB for scripts, SQL Server/PostgreSQL, Postman/Insomnia for API tests, Git/GitHub or Azure Repos for version control
Observability and quality: Elastic/Datadog/Splunk dashboards, test automation with unit/integration suites, code review via pull requests
Security: Vaulted credentials (CyberArk/Azure Key Vault), role-based access control, data masking, and audit trails
Language Requirement
English is required for daily collaboration. Additional languages are a plus for global support rotations but not mandatory.
Communication Style
Asynchronous-first through Slack and Git, with weekly Zoom design reviews and office hours for business stakeholders. Requirements, risks, and decisions are captured in Confluence with traceability to Jira issues and releases.
Time Commitment or Working Window
Approximately 40 hours per week with flexible scheduling. Release windows and cutovers may require short, pre-planned overlaps outside core hours with compensatory time.
Payment Terms
Monthly salary with annual performance review and bonus eligibility. For contractors, milestone-based deliverables with biweekly invoicing and net-15 payment terms.
Evaluation Criteria
A practical exercise building a small, resilient automation with clear logging, exception handling, and tests
Portfolio or repository review emphasizing readability, reuse, and security hygiene
Live process walkthrough converting a messy workflow into an implementable solution with SLAs
Communication clarity, stakeholder empathy, and reliability confirmed by references
Other Requirements
A standard NDA applies upon acceptance, along with identity verification and reference checks consistent with local laws. Because automations may touch PII or payments data, background screening and completion of privacy and compliance training (including SOC 2 and GDPR basics) are required. Light-touch time tracking applies for contractors to support accurate billing and audits.
