Project Description
The Speech Recognition Engineer will work on building and optimizing models for accurate speech-to-text conversion. The role will focus on creating scalable solutions that power applications in areas such as customer service automation, healthcare dictation, and voice assistants.
Core Responsibilities and Expected Deliverables
Responsibilities include preparing and preprocessing audio datasets, designing and training acoustic and language models, evaluating system accuracy, and deploying speech recognition services into production environments. Deliverables will include fully functional recognition models, APIs, and detailed documentation.
Required Experience and Preferred Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related discipline is required. Experience with projects involving speech recognition or natural language processing will be considered advantageous. Preferred qualifications include certifications in machine learning or signal processing.
Tools or Platforms to Be Used
Python, Kaldi, DeepSpeech, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud AI services.
Language Requirement
Fluency in English is required. Additional language proficiency is a plus for multilingual model training.
Communication Style
Team members will collaborate primarily through Slack and Zoom, with structured project updates and regular milestone reviews managed via email and project management tools.
Time Commitment or Working Window
40 hours per week, with flexibility for global applicants but with at least 4 overlapping hours in CET or EST time zones preferred.
